Genets lake & carp info
Genets carp lake is a 60 year old man-made carp lake of just over 5 acres, fed by a natural spring, with a silt over clay bottom. Since opening in 2004 we have retained its natural look with trees and bushes overhanging the water, giving shade and shelter to both anglers and fish. Guests often comment that Genets is one of the prettiest carp fishing lakes in France they have visited.
There are 6 single swims and 1 double so room for you to move around through the week. All the swims are on one side of the lake and are well drained with good cover and plenty of space for large bivvies. The bank you fish to is mostly tree and bush lined. We have a parking area for your vehicles, from here we can help you transport your tackle to your swim in our trailer or if not possible we have 2 carp porters you are welcome to use free of charge.
Genets lake is not a runs water but is often described as a thinking anglers carp fishing lake so with some care & thought given to your tactics there are some great rewards to be had, take a look at our carp photos to see some of our anglers catches over the years.
When we purchased the lake & house in 2003 it had always been a family home & only ever fished for family pleasure. We supplemented the existing stock with additional Carp in 2004 & 2005 consisting of mainly 20's to high 30's with further stock being added at intervals through the years. The Carp are mainly Mirrors with around 20 Commons. Genets lake now holds a good stock of truly stunning Carp to over 50lb. We take our lake & fish management very seriously & have professional fish farmers in to net the lake at regular intervals to remove all the unwanted small silverfish, this really helps with future carp growth rates.
We live on-site and whilst we leave you to enjoy your French Carp fishing holiday we are available most of the time should you need any help or advice.
